UPDATE: Call to continue water conservation efforts - no power or diesel fuel for the generator
Rollingwood Residents,
The City of Rollingwood is continuing to require water conservation measures. Several lift stations in Rollingwood are inoperable due to the city-wide power outage and more may fail as the weather deteriorates and power is not restored. When lift stations are down, they can not properly pump raw sewage to the treatment plant. There is only one generator to serve all six neighborhood lift stations and one generator that serves the primary connection with Austin. Diesel fuel has been unavailable today. We need both generators to last as long as possible and your cooperation will greatly assist with this. Please restrict water usage, including flushing, dripping faucets, and the use of large appliances, to only what is absolutely necessary. This may prevent localized sewage back-ups, a city-wide boil water order, impacts to fire protection, and widespread lack of water service. Response time continues to be delayed longer than usual due to the current weather conditions. Once, power is restored to the lift stations, we’ll notify you so that you may resume regular water usage. Finally, please check on your neighbors and share what you can with them. We are in this together. Thank you again for your cooperation as we continue to navigate this unprecedented weather disaster.
