TRASH SERVICE GUIDELINES AND SCHEDULE


 

Trash is serviced twice a week on Monday and Thursday

Residents must provide their own trash receptacles. Trash receptacles should be no larger than 45 gallons in volume or weighing more than 50 lbs. Residents are responsible for replacing the receptacle if damaged or no longer usable.

TRASH Service guidelines

Receptacles should be placed on the curb no later than 7:00 a.m. to be serviced. Collection can range from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Do not place any hazardous materials in your trash. Residents may place up to three kitchen trash bags (13-30 gal each) or bundles at curbside. Overfilled trash receptacles will not be serviced. RECYCLING SERVICE GUIDELINES AND SCHEDULE


 

Recycling is serviced once a week on Thursday.

All Recycling carts are provided by Waste Connections. If your recycling cart is damaged or no longer usable, please contact City Hall at (512) 327-1838 to have it exchanged. 

RECYCLING SERVICE GUIDELINES

Receptacles should be placed at curbside no later than 7:00 a.m. to be serviced. Collection can range from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. All recycling items must be inside the recycling receptacle, any items outside of the receptacle will be serviced as trash or not collected. All food waste must be rinsed from recyclables before placing in cart. Place recycling cart 3ft away from your trash receptacle and any other object. No sorting is required.

BULK WASTE AND SCHEDULING BULK PICK-UPS


 

Bulk pick-ups occur as needed by request. Please contact City Hall to schedule a bulk pick-up at (512) 327-1838.

Bulk Pick-up GUIDELINES 

Residents are allowed to have up to 5 cubic yards worth of bulk items next to your receptacle. If you have tree debris, please ensure to breakdown debris into 4ft length bundles that do not exceed 6 inches in diameter or exceed 50 lbs per bundle. Debris bundles can be tied with a rope or string, bundles tied with wires or cables will not be accepted. To view an example, please click HERE.

 


HOLIDAY SCHEDULE


 

Waste Connections will operate on most holidays. The Holidays Waste Connections observe and will not operate on are:

  • Thanksgiving Day

  • Christmas Day

  • New Years Day

If a holiday falls on Saturday or Sunday, your service will NOT be affected. Otherwise, service will run one day late if your normal collection day is on or after one of the observed holidays listed above.

 


LANDFILL


 

If you wish to dispose of bulk items, you may use the City of Austin Landfill located at 10108 FM 812, south of Air Force base.  The hours of operation are 8:00am-4:30pm, Monday - Friday.  The Landfill is closed on weekends.
